Leading a nonprofit can feel like driving on empty. Every decision rests on your shoulders, the road ahead is full of unexpected detours, and too often, you’re navigating alone. Burnout is real. Boards demand more, funding feels uncertain, and the weight of balancing staff, donors, and mission leaves little space for you to simply breathe. What most executives crave isn’t another training, webinar, or consultant—it’s a trusted crew of peers who understand the journey because they’re on it too.
That’s where Nonprofit Leadership Drivers comes in. This mastermind program is built exclusively for nonprofit CEOs and executive directors who need more than advice—they need real-time support, honest perspective, and fresh energy to tackle the toughest roadblocks. Each month, you’ll step into a structured yet flexible space designed around your challenges, not a pre-set curriculum. Together with other leaders, you’ll share wins, confront roadblocks, and fuel both your mission and your well-being.

MEEET ELLE BENSON
NONPROFIT LEADERSHIP LLC
FOUNDER AND CEO
Nonprofit Leadership LLC
Elle Benson is a keynote speaker, author, and national consultant who blends two passions—happiness research and nonprofit capacity building—to help leaders thrive and organizations grow. As founder of Nonprofit Leadership LLC, Elle has spent her career guiding nonprofits through organizational development, strategic planning, board governance, and executive transitions, always with a focus on strengthening leadership for greater community impact.
Her own research into joy and resilience has been equally transformative. Through more than 900 unique experiences designed to intentionally increase happiness, Elle created Happiness Labs, immersive gatherings where over 750 participants have tested science-backed strategies for boosting well-being, connection, and resilience. Partnering with Belmont University, she is studying how intentional actions measurably improve both individual and community flourishing.
The intersection of these two passions inspired Elle to launch Nonprofit Leadership Drivers—a mastermind collective for nonprofit executives that combines proven capacity-building practices with the science of happiness. Drawing on lessons from her own participation in BrainTrust, Elle designed Drivers as a powerful peer network where nonprofit leaders can reduce isolation, tackle challenges with clarity, and sustain themselves and their organizations for the long road ahead.
Elle holds an MBA in Organizational Change and a Bachelor of Arts in Business, along with certifications in BoardSource governance and group facilitation. She is also the author of two books on mindfulness and happiness, and her TEDx talk, “A Crash Course in Learning to Laugh,” has inspired audiences nationwide to embrace joy as a tool for resilience and leadership.
